I do have my software configured to "Import previous session", so anytime I add files to a previously written media, it shows all that I've previously burned.
You probably shouldn't write to that media until you figured it out. Maybe you should load it back onto your disk or burn another copy. Another possibility is that the original burn did not work correctly. I believe Nero has a "Verify after burn" option. Do you have that enabled? I've been using standard CD's for years and years.. I'm sure these will work just fine 10 years from now. I also back up to DVD when I have enough I'm sure these will work down the road too.. I guess I wasn't clear in my first post.
I never burn multisession anymore. I burn my first backup on cd-r as single session and when I have enough data on cd-r media to reasonably fill a dvd, I burn a single session on a dvd high quality. What I was referring to as dirt cheap was the cd-r media I am stingier when it comes to a more expensive high quality dvd but still not so concerned that I worry about some wasted space on the disc.
I think it's probably safest for me to choose burn without multisession until I understand this better. I dont want to take a chance that the first session will be unreadable after I add a new session. I'll just wait till I have more data I suppose I could use cd rw to back up temporarily until a folder like " photos" has 4GB in it.
That's what I was facing the last couple month on my machine with the latest of v6. And after selecting 'New' under the 'File' menu as you suggested, 'Continue Multisession' is made available.
Even by this route though, it seems you've to click the 'New' icon. First time I tried it, the 'Finalize CD' box seemed to be checked and made unavailable for change, but that's not occuring now, not sure why it appeared that way. Incidentally, under the 'Multisession' heading in the 'Multisession' tab, you'll see 'Options': 'Refresh compilation when importing session' with a number of further options. Which of these do you check, if any? Thanks for the suggestions.
Seems Dave solved the issue, please see my response to him if you're interested. Not familiar with the "Verify after burn option," or perhaps I've been doing so without focussing on it. Incidentally, I started out burning with Roxio's Easy CD Creator, and it was indeed fairly easy to use, but I burned a couple dozen coasters over half a year with it. Who's to say what the precise problems were, it was hardly a controlled test: all these burnings occurred in a couple different labs on over half a dozen workstations, all of which had the same software.
And I find it even more user friendly. Yes, I've read experiences of media degradation en masse, but I've yet to see any controlled studies among the brands by reputable sources such as the technology equivalent of a Consumer Reports. I hope the latter. I have come across testimonials about Taiyo Yuden in forums, but again, I'm unsure if it's partly or mostly based on brand image or on research into their stability.
Thus far I've had no stability problems, but none of my compilations, backups and copies are more than a few years old. I store all my discs in albums, four to a page eight to a leaf, front and back --I dislike jewel cases--but I store the albums upright, as you might place a book on a shelf, and try to keep the discs from the extremes of weather.
Here's their faq:. That's why I stick with TY. It's almost imposible to keep up with who manufacturers the media given the name on the label. I have always used Easy CD Creator. Though I have read of others who hate it, I have never really had a problem with it ignoring my learning curve. I also use Plextor drives. When I first researched CD burners there were issues of low quality drives which caused coasters. Though I think drives are better now, I still stick with Plextor for my precious archives.
That's not a problem, but lucky I just found the solution just few days before your enquiry, cose I was going to ask the same question here 2 or 3 days before you. We dig into the detail The Nikon Z mm F2. With a versatile focal length range and a fast aperture for low light photography and blurry backgrounds, this lens promises sharp imagery and smooth bokeh with minimal aberrations.

John Sparkman. Joined Apr 4, Messages You can keep burning as long as there is still space left on the disc. If your using a CD-RW disc you can even erase it and start over again.
If you using a CD-R disc, once it's full you won't be able to use it again. Joined Jun 27, Messages 6, It is called multi-session because you close each session as you write it so the computer can read what is on it. Writing multi-session also writes the lead in for the next session. There is a housekeeping cost for the sessions. Writing the table of contents and the lead in seems to take about 15Mb which varies with software.
