To help facilitate its features properly, Ultra also integrates an external control module that's programmed to control the cooler's functions and report on the current health of the CPU. Based on its relatively unique design and a rather hefty pricepoint, we were eager to delve into the design and performance of the Ultra ChillTec Thermo-Electric CPU cooler.
Our goal is to see how well the unit performs compared to stock cooling and to assess the advantages of adding a Peltier to the unit's overall design. It stay on all the time at 20c to overclocked maxed out 35c according to the read out And you don't know what your doing. If I was going to do this all over I would use Corsair H or h80 for the same price basically but more compact.
Remember the CPU is the most expensive part of your computer! And yes I would use icdiamond paste on them tooooo. I have been building computers since I was child. My cpu stayed around 35 degrees c even when I worked it hard. After operating it for over 4 months now the temp. I thought maybe it had too much dust build up so I cleaned it out. It still runs at 61 to 63 degrees c. I even added a pusher fan on the other side of the fins, but still nothing.
I am not sure where the chill is suppose to be, this isn't it. Replaced a similar type peletier cooler I got in that had a fan failure. Used thermal compound I purchased from this site rather than what came with cooler. Installed on a P5n SLI MB that already had the backing cllp installed from prior factory install, so I did not have to remove MB to install which would of been a hassle.
Still was time consuming as installing the spring fastners and tightening them was difficult in a confined space on my MB.
